A suspect was arrested after a man was found stabbed to death inside his car in Lancaster.
On March 12, Los Angeles County deputies responded to reports of an injured man on the 1800 block of Avenue I at around 8:13 a.m.
The victim, Manuel Covarrubias, was taking a break at the time. He was eating lunch in his car when the suspect suddenly approached the vehicle and attacked him, authorities said.
The victim was stabbed several times in the head and neck before the suspect fled the scene in a vehicle.
Arriving deputies found the victim with the fatal stab wounds. He was transported to a local hospital where he later died from his injuries.
Detectives later identified Rosario as the primary suspect. On March 14, deputies spotted Rosario’s vehicle and conducted a traffic stop. He was arrested for murder.
Rosario was charged with one count of murder by the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office.
Investigators said the deadly attack was unprovoked and the motive behind the stabbing remains unclear.
No further details about the case were released as the incident remains under investigation.
