Two suspects remain at large after a man was found shot to death outside a car wash in El Monte.
On April 7, Los Angeles County sheriff’s deputies responded to a shooting at a parking lot on the 2300 block of Peck Road at 9:30 p.m.
Arriving deputies found the victim, who was only identified as an adult male, with gunshot wounds.
The victim was standing in the parking lot when two men allegedly approached him and asked where he was from, according to the San Gabriel Valley Tribune.
At least one suspect opened fire on the victim, the Tribune reported. They fled the area before authorities arrived.
The victim was later transported to the hospital where he was pronounced dead.
Although the victim was not identified, authorities told the Tribune that he is an El Monte resident in his 20s. Investigators also believed the deadly shooting may be gang-related.
No further details were released as the homicide remains under investigation.
Anyone with information on the incident is asked to call the LASD’s Homicide Bureau at 323-890-5500.
