PRINCE WILLIAM COUNTY, Va. (DC News Now) — The Prince William County Police Department (PWCPD) said a man is dead after his car was hit by a wrong-way driver in Nokesville.
Shortly before 6:30 p.m., officers responded to the area of Bristow Road near Windy Hill Drive for a crash.
There, police learned that a man driving a 2021 Toyota Tundra east on Bristow Road allegedly crossed over the center line.
PWCPD said the man then started driving on the opposite side of the road and slammed into a 2003 Lexus GX head-on.
Police said the impact of the crash caused the Lexus to spin off the road and land in a ditch.
The driver of the Lexus, 63-year-old Thomas Spencer Stark, of Nokesville, was taken to the hospital where he died.
The man driving the Toyota was also taken to the hospital for minor injuries.
Prince William County police said investigators determined that speed was not a factor and the crash is under investigation.
