Police have arrested a man accused of fatally shooting another man in the Del Rey neighborhood of Los Angeles.
Preliminary investigation revealed the men were standing outside a location in the 11700 block of Avon Way around 9:35 p.m. Tuesday when one of them produced a handgun and opened fire, according to Los Angeles Police Department Officer Miller.
The victim, only identified as a man in his 50s, was pronounced dead at the scene by first responders.
While the suspect initially got away, police quickly located and apprehended him; no information surrounding his identity was released other than his age being between 60 and 70 years old, Officer Miller confirmed.
Video from the scene posted to the Citizen App shows an alleyway being blocked off by police tape and a white canopy set up in the middle of the alley as helicopters circled overhead.
The incident does not appear to be gang-related, and the victim was not homeless, Officer Miller added.
What led up to the shooting remains unknown. No further details were released.
