POLICE have launched a murder investigation after a man was stabbed to death minutes before the new year began.
A man in his 20s was killed at an address on Tarn Drive in Bury at 11:55 on New Year’s Eve.
Emergency services were called, but the man tragically died at the scene despite their best efforts.
Greater Manchester Police have arrested a man and woman in their 20s on suspicion of murder.
A forensic team remains on the driveway of the property as cops continue their investigation.
A spokesperson from the force said: “At around 11.55pm on Wednesday 31 December 2025, we were called to reports of a disturbance at an address on Tarn Drive in Bury.
“Officers attended the scene and located a male in his 20s with injuries consistent with a stabbing.
“Despite the best efforts of emergency services at the scene, the male sadly died.
“A male and a female in their 20s have both been arrested on suspicion of murder and remain in custody for questioning. Investigations are ongoing.”
