WASHINGTON (DC News Now) — Shots were fired after a dispute ensued between two people at the Anacostia Metro Station on Sunday night, according to the Metro Transit Police Department (MTPD).
According to MTPD, just before 6:45 p.m., officers responded to the Anacostia Metro Station for a shooting.
When officers arrived, they found a man who had been grazed by a bullet. A preliminary investigation revealed that just before the shooting, the suspect and man were involved in a dispute on a Green Line train.
The dispute continued onto the train platform, where the suspect fired shots.
Responders took the man to the hospital in stable condition. He had non-life-threatening injuries.
As a result of the shooting, authorities temporarily closed the Anacostia station. The station has since reopened, and as of Sunday night, trains are single-tracking between Congress Heights and Navy Yard while police investigate.
Police encourage anyone with information to call MTPD at 202-962-2121.
