Police are investigating what led up to a man being found dead in a park in North Hollywood on Tuesday afternoon.

According to a press release from the Los Angeles Police Department, officers were dispatched to the 5000 block of Tujunga Avenue in North Hollywood at 1:40 p.m. and arrived to find a man on the ground suffering from a gunshot wound.

Los Angeles Fire Department paramedics responded and pronounced him dead. He was only identified as a 30-year-old Hispanic man; his name is not being released pending notification of next of kin.

Sky5 footage from the scene shows a large police presence near the entrance to an apartment building garage in the 5000 block of Tujunga. A person was also seen being questioned, but they were eventually released, according to police.

A white canopy had also been erected near the southern end of the park, aerial footage depicted.

Detectives canvassed the area for evidence but were not able to immediately provide a description of a potential suspect or suspects. A motive behind the shooting was also not established.
