Authorities are investigating after a man was found dead in Riverside County.
On June 25, Riverside County deputies responded to reports of a body on the 47000 block of Morongo Road in Banning shortly before 11 p.m. The area is located near the Morongo Reservation.
Arriving deputies found a man with a “traumatic injury and obvious signs of death” at the scene. He was identified as Orlando Lara, 50, of Banning. It’s unclear how long Lara’s body may have been at the location.
No suspects were found in the area and the events leading up to Lara’s death remain unclear.
Deputies said people passing by the area had initially discovered the body. No further details, including a possible suspect description, were released.
