A 29-year-old man was fatally shot in the Bronx on Sunday, a block away from the Bronx Zoo.
Police responding to a 911 call around 1:30 p.m. found the victim with multiple gunshot wounds to his head near E. 182nd St. and Mapes Ave. in Belmont, said cops, who did not immediately release his identity.
The shooter fled on a bike southbound on Prospect Ave, they said.
The fatal shooting came nearly 12 hours after two men were shot, one fatally, outside a Bronx apartment building on Morris Ave. near Kingsbridge Road.
Both investigations are ongoing.
