A young man was killed Friday when he was struck a dozen times by gunfire in the Grand Boulevard neighborhood on the city’s South Side, according to Chicago police.
The victim, who police said was 24, was standing in the 200 block of East 43rd Street just before 3 p.m. when a gunman inside a white sedan opened fire.
The victim was struck 12 times in the head and body and was taken to the University of Chicago Medical Center where he was pronounced dead, police said. The gunman fled north on South Indiana Avenue and remained at large Friday evening.
