Man cited for urinating on CHP facility in Southern California

Authorities issued a citation to a man who took a bathroom break in a place that, in hindsight, was likely not the brightest idea: outside a California Highway Patrol vehicle enforcement facility.

A social media post by CHP states that the incident took place at their Grapevine Vehicle Enforcement Facility along the southbound 5 Freeway south of Wheeler Ridge. The exact date was not disclosed.

“This guy thought it was ‘all good’ pulling into our facility and watering our trees,” CHP said. “He was cited for the urination incident.”

L.A. County remains ‘critically short’ on rainfall despite recent storms

To add insult to injury, officers pointed out that the man had passed the Tejon Outlets exit, which offers plenty of space to use the restroom.

“Our facility has restrooms too,” CHP said. “All you have to do is ask.”

While California doesn’t have a specific law prohibiting public urination, many localities make urinating in public illegal. One example is Los Angeles County Code Section 11.16.050, which bans people from depositing offensive substances, including urine and feces, on city streets.
