Authorities arrested a man after an 11-mile pursuit through the High Desert earlier this week, officials say.
According to a San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department media release, deputies with the Apple Valley station were dispatched to a home on a call of a subject threatening to harm his ex-fiancé and himself.
The exact location of where the call came from was not disclosed.
“Due to the context of the threats and prior contacts with the subject, multiple deputies responded to the area,” SBSD said. “When [a deputy] attempted contact with the subject, he drove his vehicle towards multiple patrol units and fled the area.”
The man, identified as Terence Fonsworth Billingsley, led deputies on a pursuit lasting approximately 11 miles. The chase terminated near the intersection of CA-18 and Corwin Road in Apple Valley after deputies successfully deployed spike strips.
Billingsley, 29, was taken into custody without further incident.
He was booked into the High Desert Detention Center for felony evading and remains in custody on $50,000 bail, inmate records show.
