If you’re planning to drive on Topanga Canyon Boulevard in the San Fernando Valley next week, be prepared for some possible delays.
The California Department of Transportation is constructing curb ramps, forcing the closure of the northbound right lane at the following streets:
- Calvert Street
- Califa Street
- Lanark Street
- Chase Street
- Strathern Street
- Schoenborn Street
- Plummer Street
- Parthenia Street
- Wyandotte Street
- Cohasset Street
The closures begin at 5:30 a.m. Monday morning and remain in place until 5:30 a.m. Monday, March 31, though officials note these dates are weather-permitting and subject to change.
“During the continuous closures, driveways to homes and businesses will remain accessible,” Caltrans said in a news release.
While the work is ongoing, however, drivers are advised to use alternate routes when possible and slow down if driving through a construction zone.
This work is part of Caltrans’ project to “upgrade curb ramps, pedestrian push buttons, and bus pads in the San Fernando Valley and through the unincorporated area of Topanga,” a work zone that “spans more than 18 miles on SR-27 from Pacific Coast Highway to Devonshire Street in Chatsworth.”
