LEESBURG, Va (DC News Now) – Loudoun United FC start their 2025 campaign off on the right boot. The team picked up a huge 3-1 win over the Birmingham Legion on Saturday, but this team is motivated to keep the winning rolling.
United missed the USL Champions Postseason last year by six points on the table, because of that this squad is ready to start the year strong and finish even stronger.
“We look back last year and feel like we were close in a lot of tough matches against really good opponents.” said team captain Luke Ryan. “Having the opportunity to get a lot of that group back and continue building on all the progress we achieved last year. I think that’s something everyone is excited about.” he continued.
Ryan along with other standouts such as Wesley Leggett are looking to have another very good year, but most importantly they want to take things one game at a time.
“It’s gonna continue to get more and more challenging as the year goes on, teams are fighting for more and more points and spots on the table.” Ryan said. “It’s a good start but we’re looking forward to the next one here.”
United will take on North Carolina FC on Saturday, March 15th.
