Dozens of firearms were taken off the streets during a gun buyback event in Palmdale.
The Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department’s Palmdale Station hosted the event Friday at Poncitian Square in an event funded by the city, according to the station’s post on X, formerly Twitter.
“The event took place as a non enforcement event to decrease the amount of guns on the street in an effort to prevent shootings,” the Sheriff’s Station stated in the post.
Deputies collected a total of 85 guns along with several rounds of ammunition.
This was the second event held in the City of Palmdale, which has now resulted in 128 firearms being turned in between the two events.
