Love, laughter, and lime wedges take center stage in Lifetime’s latest feel-good romance, created in partnership with Chili’s Bar & Grill, to celebrate National Margarita Day, which is coming up on Saturday.

The 15-minute original special, “I’ll be Home for National Margarita Day,” stars Maria Menounos and Taye Diggs. The special can be viewed on mylifetime.com, the Lifetime app, YouTube, and select video-on-demand platforms.

Wendy’s plans to add more AI ordering assistants to restaurants nationwide

“The television event tells the story of Liz (Maria Menounos) and Sam (Taye Diggs), former love interests who are reunited at the local Chili’s when Liz returns to her hometown, desperate to escape the big city’s overpriced margaritas,” a news release said.

“Everything seems perfect until a big-city developer’s plans to build condos threatens to ruin the town’s National Margarita Day traditions. Liz and Sam must work together to stop the developer and save National Margarita Day, rekindling their relationship in the process.”

In addition to the movie, Chili’s is offering in-restaurant drink specials and exclusive themed merchandise, including:

  • $5 Tequila Trifecta: A blend of el Jimador Silver, 1800 Reposado, and Jose Cuervo Gold, available for one day only on Feb. 22 at participating locations.
  • $6 StrawEddy Margarita: A mix of Deep Eddy Lemon Vodka, Lunazul Blanco Tequila, strawberry puree, and house-made sour, available throughout February.
  • Margarita Merch: Fans can shop film-inspired apparel such as the “Marg Sweet Marg” T-shirt ($30) and the cozy “Marg Mama” sweater ($65) at welcometochilis.com.

Other promotions for the foodie holiday include $10 margarita flights Feb. 22-27 at El Torito and Acapulco Restaurant y Cantina.
