NEW YORK (WPIX) – One of the attorneys representing Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs is quitting the case ahead of the rap mogul’s sex trafficking trial.
Court documents show attorney Anthony Ricco filed a motion in a New York City court on Thursday to withdraw from the case.
“Although I have provided Sean Combs with the high level of legal representation expected by the court, under no circumstances can I continue to effectively serve as counsel for Sean Combs,” Ricco said in the court filing.
He did not provide specific reasons for moving to withdraw, USA Today and NBC News reported.

Combs, 55, faces charges of sex trafficking, racketeering and transportation to engage in prostitution. He has been held at the Metropolitan Detention Center in Brooklyn since September.
The music mogul is accused of presiding over an empire of sexual crimes, coercing and abusing women for years while using blackmail and acts of violence to keep his victims quiet, according to an indictment.
Combs has pleaded not guilty ahead of his first court date on May 5. He has five additional lawyers set to represent him.
