(The Hill) — Laura Loomer, a close ally of President Trump’s and a far-right activist, asked the president to intervene as she continues to accuse billionaire Elon Musk of censoring her account on his social media platform X.
“It’s outrageous,” Loomer wrote in a Wednesday X post. “I worked my [expeletive] off to help President Trump get elected and now I am being retaliated against, censored, and deliberately financially attacked as an independent journalist by one of his admin officials.”
Musk, who was tapped to lead Trump’s so-called Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE), clashed with some conservative activists late last month after he signaled his support for the H-1B work visa, a key immigration program designed to attract international talent.
After Loomer and other hardline anti-immigration activists attacked Musk for his views, they said they lost access to some premium features on X, including verification and monetization.
In the Wednesday post, Loomer said she still did not have access to those premium features, including subscriptions, which she said is a key revenue source that she uses to fund her independent journalism.
Loomer noted that she is a voice for much of the MAGA base and uses her account to defend Trump and “get accountability for the American people by exposing political corruption.”
“I was his biggest defender the entire election season and now his Billionaire admin official @elonmusk is trying to strip me of thousands of dollars of subscriber revenue that I use to fund my independent journalism,” she continued, adding, “It’s not Elon’s money. It the money of my own supporters who by their own free will wanted to support my work. It’s also my livelihood.”
“It’s greedy and it’s morally wrong, and it’s downright UNETHICAL AND UNAMERICAN,” Loomer wrote.
She said it was “outrageous and un-American” that someone as close to Trump as Musk is engaging in “this egregious retaliatory censorship” and “trying to harm my livelihood by cutting off my subscriptions and shadow banning my account.”
“The fact that this has gone on for a MONTH now with no recourse is a slap in my face after everything I have done to help President Trump @JDVance and all of their staff,” Loomer wrote.
“It’s already recognized in our country that MONEY IS SPEECH. Thus, the demonetization of my account is truly an abomination, and we clearly do not have free speech in our country when a WHITE HOUSE OFFICIAL can get away with attacking and silencing one of President Trump’s biggest Allies,” she continued.
“If they can do it to me after how hard I worked and how loyal I was to President @realDonaldTrump, they will do it to all of you as well,” she added.
