SANTA ANA — The final defendant involved in a smash-and-grab jewelry store robbery in Tustin has been sentenced to 29 years in prison, according to court records obtained Tuesday.
Nasadi Tyree Milton, 26, pleaded guilty Friday to two counts of second-degree robbery and a count of attempted second-degree robbery as well as five counts of assault with a firearm, all felonies. He also admitted sentencing enhancements for the use of a gun.
Milton received credit for 1,060 days behind bars since is arrest.
Five co-defendants pleaded guilty Nov. 22.
Gregory Edison, 27, pleaded guilty to two counts of robbery, a count of attempted robbery and five counts of assault with a firearm with sentencing enhancements for being armed with a gun in the commission of a felony. Edison was sentenced to 12 years in prison and given credit for 824 days in jail, according to court records.
Co-defendant Cameron Ajaie Smith, 30, pleaded guilty to the same charges as Edison and was sentenced to 19 years in prison.
Co-defendant Naheim Jaree Milton, 21, also pleaded guilty to the same charges and was sentenced to five years in prison.
Co-defendant Trayvonte Washington, 32, pleaded guilty to the same charges as the others and was sentenced to 19 years in prison.
Co-defendant Masiah Ethan Pagota, 21, admitted the same charges and was sentenced to six years and six months in prison.
The defendants were accused of robbing The Jewelry Exchange at 15732 Tustin Village Way about 2 p.m. April 28, 2022, according to police.
Six masked, gun-wielding bandits smashed jewelry cases with a tire iron and hammers and snagged $86,797 worth of valuables before fleeing, police said.
The robbers hopped a fence onto the Costa Mesa (55) Freeway and got away in three get-away vehicles, police said.
The employees were forced at gunpoint to the floor during the robbery, prosecutors said in court papers. During the takeover-style robbery, one employee ran to the back of the store to dial 911, but he dropped his phone when one of the defendants pointed a gun at him, prosecutors said.
