MONTGOMERY COUNTY, Md. (DC News Now) — A large tree fell over in Montgomery County on New Year’s Day, damaging a car and blocking some lanes.
Shortly after 8 p.m., Pete Piringer, a spokesman for Montgomery County Fire and Rescue Service (MCFRS) said the tree fell in the area of Columbia Pike and Blackburn Road in Burtonsville.

Luckily, no one was trapped in the car when the tree fell onto it.
Southbound lanes on Route 29 were blocked as a result.
