Two Los Angeles filmmakers will have their commercial air during Super Bowl LIX after winning Doritos’ “Crash the Super Bowl Contest.”
The winning duo, Dylan Bradshaw and Nate Norell are best friends and co-directors of the ad.
Bradshaw moved to the L.A. area in 2020 with “no job and a dream,” and Norell discovered his love for filmmaking at 16 and earned a Cinema and Media Arts degree from Biola University, according to the snack company.
Together, the two hope to “inspire others to take control of their own paths, create their own opportunities, and shape their lives through passion, positivity, and perseverance.”
The ad, “Abduction,” showcases that no one, not even extraterrestrials, can “resist the bold crunch of Doritos.”
The commercial will air in the first quarter. A sneak peek is also available on DoritosCrash.com.
In addition to having their commercial air during the Super Bowl, Bradshaw and Norell will also receive $1 million and an all-expense-paid trip to New Orleans for The Big Game.
First launched in 2006, Doritos’ “Crash the Super Bowl” contest allows fans to produce their own Doritos commercials that could air during the Super Bowl. Contenders are tasked with making a commercial that surpasses anything Doritos could make.
Past moments from the contest include the screeching goat in the 2013 ad “Goat 4 Sale” and when the little boy slaps his mom’s date during the 2010 “House Rules” ad.
