NBA superstar Kevin Durant has been traded from the Phoenix Suns to the Houston Rockets, according to multiple reports.

The news was first reported by ESPN’s Shams Charania.

In exchange for Durant, the Suns will receive Dillon Brooks, Jalen Green and six draft picks, including the No. 10 selection in the 2025 NBA Draft, which is on Wednesday night. The other five picks are second rounders, per Charania.

Durant, 36, leaves the Phoenix Suns after three relatively lackluster seasons in which he didn’t advance past the Western Conference semifinals. The Suns failed to make the playoffs this year, while the Rockets surprised many by finishing second in the Western Conference, although they lost to the Golden State Warriors in the first round of the playoffs.

The perennial NBA star, a 15-time All-Star and two-time NBA Finals MVP, joins a squad of young players in Houston headed by Turkish center Alperen Sengun and rising two-way star Amen Thompson. As for Phoenix, they now have an explosive young shooting guard in Jalen Green and a solid three-and-D veteran in Dillon Brooks to pair up with star point guard Devin Booker.

According to ESPN, the trade will become official when the new league year officially begins on July 6.
