When Katya Jones was paired with Wynne Evans for last year’s Strictly Come Dancing, he vowed he would find a husband for his singleton partner.
The opera singer – famous for the Go Compare adverts – took her to his favourite cocktail bars in his home city of Cardiff as they went in search of ‘The One’.
But divorcee Ms Jones, 35, has revealed Evans failed in his mission, despite him introducing her to lots of Welsh men – and she is still on her own after splitting from her fellow Strictly professional husband Neil Jones in 2019.
She told The Mail on Sunday: ‘Wynne said he would find me a husband in Wales but we were too busy dancing in the end. I am certainly still single. I’m going to have to ask him about that.’
Evans, 52, added: ‘I did introduce her to every man in Wales. But unfortunately none of them were good enough.’
Ms Jones split from her husband after she was pictured kissing her 2018 Strictly partner Seann Walsh, who had a girlfriend at the time, in a London street.

Evans, 52, said: ‘I did introduce her to every man in Wales. But unfortunately none of them were good enough.’
And since then she believes men are too scared to even approach her – let alone start a relationship.
She said: ‘They are probably too intimidated. They are that intimidated that they wouldn’t even take the first step.
‘I mean, my standards are high. I am not going to lie. I am not one to waste my time with pointless chat if there’s no substance to the conversation either.’
Evans and Ms Jones are dancing together on the Strictly Live tour which sees them covering eight miles a night because the arenas are so big.
