Katie Holmes showed off her famous street style when she surfaced in New York on Saturday – two days after her opening in a star-studded production of Our Town.
The acclaimed 1938 play by Thornton Wilder has been revived on Broadway with a cast features Katie as well as Jim Parsons and Zoey Deutch.
When she stepped out in the city over the weekend, Katie, 45, was wrapped in a fashionable multicolored houndstooth coat.
She draped the jacket over a flowy sweater and pulled on a loose-fitted pair of dark jeans, bringing the look together with a pair of black shoes.
Slinging on two handbags, she accessorized with a large pair of sunglasses and sharpened her youthful features with makeup.

Katie’s latest sighting comes after her revival of Our Town received a lukewarm response from the critics following its Broadway opening.
In a one-and-a-half-star review, the New York Post accused the production of ‘drippy sentimentality’ and argued: ‘Scenes are, at once, overacted — like an olde tyme park — and underacted, with nary a believable or grounded moment to speak of.’
The revival was similarly called ‘middling’ by the Wall Street Journal, which did spare warm words for its ‘polished’ quality and ‘moments of humor.’
‘In this production, we are too aware of Parsons’ center-stage telling us everything and harrying the actors to stand here, and do that, to care that much about what they are doing,’ complained the Daily Beast. ‘We spend too much time outside the action, outside them, and when they are in action, that action gallops by.’
However the revival was praised for its ‘beauty,’ its ‘fine cast’ and its ‘swift and unsentimental direction’ by the New York Times.
Similarly, Katie and Jim’s ‘charm’ was hailed by in a Variety review that said the production succeeded in making ‘the ordinary enticing.’
Katie began previews for Our Town on September 17, but the production does not officially open at the Barrymore Theatre until this Thursday evening.
The show originally ran on Broadway in 1938 and became an instant classic of the American stage, winning the Pulitzer Prize For Drama.

Narrated by a stage manager, the groundbreakingly meta play revolves around New Hampshire village life at the dawn of the 20th century.
Amid a Spartan stage set, characters break the fourth wall, travel backwards in time and even return from beyond the grave.
Katie, who shares an 18-year-old daughter called Suri with her ex-husband Tom Cruise, is making her grand return to Broadway after 12 years.
The last time she acted on the Great White Way was in the 2012 comic play Dead Accounts, also starring Judy Greer and Wicked heartthrob Norbert Leo Butz.
Meanwhile, Our Town has enjoyed a string of revivals on Broadway since 1938, most recently in 2002 with a cast led by Paul Newman.
Katie’s Broadway comeback comes just after her daughter Suri began college at Carnegie Mellon, after graduating from New York’s famous LaGuardia High School of Music & Art and Performing Arts earlier this year.
The high school, which was said to have inspired the movie Fame, has churned out a formidable array of celebrities over the years.
Notable alumni range from Al Pacino and Liza Minnelli to Jennifer Aniston and Adrien Brody to newer faces like Ansel Elgort and Timothee Chalamet.

Having graduated high school, Suri will now attend the prestigious college Carnegie Mellon, where she is said to be ‘leaning towards’ studying fashion.
‘She is a smart girl, and she is turning into a very intelligent mature young woman,’ an insider recently revealed to DailyMail.com. ‘She has a very close group of loyal friends, and she knows exactly where she comes from.’
Suri’s mother on the other hand is said to be ‘overwhelmed’ at the prospect of Suri going off to Pittsburgh for college. ‘Katie takes great pride in her but is also extremely overprotective,’ a source shared.
Katie, who shot to fame on the teen drama Dawson’s Creek, started dating Tom in 2005 and got engaged to him seven weeks into the relationship.
Their Scientologist wedding was held at the Castello Orsini-Odescalchi in Bracciano in November 2006, seven months after Suri was born.

Katie filed in 2012 for a divorce that was finalized just 10 days later, with Katie retaining primary custody of Suri while Tom was granted visitation, via People.
Ron Miscavige, father of Scientology leader David Miscavige, told the MailOnline in 2016 that Katie’s misgivings about Scientology – including the effect it could have on Suri – contributed to her decision to leave Tom.
The Top Gun Maverick star reportedly paid Katie $400,000 a year until Suri’s 18th birthday, and will now send money for her college fees.
Tom has not been pictured with his daughter in 11 years, and in 2018 it was alleged that he had created distance between himself and Suri.
‘Every person is allowed to see their child if they wanted to,’ an insider told Us Weekly. ‘He chooses not to because she is not a Scientologist.’
