Katherine Ryan admitted she felt ‘uneasy’ after her husband Bobby Kootstra told their marriage coach ‘when they had last had sex’.
The comedian, 41, revealed she is a lot more ‘prudish about sex’ than she thought she was and her partner has become more ‘public’ about their private life.
Speaking to The Times, Katherine said her husband has become used to opening up on their reality show, At Home With Katherine Ryan.
She said: ‘On our reality show we discuss contentious issues such as Bobby and Violet getting along or us having a fourth baby. We come from a small town where everybody knows your business, so becoming a bit more public was fine with Bobby.
‘I’ve learnt I’m a lot more prudish about sex than I thought. When I talk about explicit subjects on stage, I hide behind a punchline.
‘But when Bobby told a marriage coach on the show when we’d last had sex, that made me feel uneasy.’

It comes after Katherine revealed husband Bobby needs ‘more training’ in the bedroom as they step up their sex life from twice to five times a month.
Speaking at an exclusive screening of her own reality series, Katherine confessed: ‘Last year I said we have sex twice a month – we do it probably five times a month now!’
But despite their newfound intimacy, Katherine admitted: ‘He actually needs to do more calf training work because the leverage that he had to get really hurt his calves. He was on tippy toes for a lot of the time.’
The comedian hit the headlines recently after after slamming the 1,057 men who queued up to have sex with British porn star Bonnie Blue as ‘sad desperate losers’.
In episode two of the new series, viewers will see Katherine and Bobby reveal that they ‘were able to get intimate in the bathroom’ after visiting a marriage counsellor and intimacy coach.
‘It felt amazing. It’s reminiscent of when we were teenagers dating, because we would have to hide from parents and police,’ the comedian revealed.
‘We’d have sex in tents, in bushes, we’d go down to the beach, there were crevices that I didn’t know I had that were filled with sand, UTIs galore and then once I got a car that’s when our sex life really geared up.’
Katherine and Bobby have been together since 2018, but have known each other since they were children as they grew up together in Canada.

Childhood sweethearts, the two parted ways initially before rekindling their romance this side of the Atlantic.
They now have two children together, Fred, three, and Fenna, two, and reveal in the new series that they ‘want the option of having a fourth [child].’
Over four new episodes, At Home with Katherine Ryan will see the star juggle motherhood with her nationwide stand-up tour, while tackling everything from teen social media addiction to marital trust.
With her husband sitting in the centre of the audience at the five-star Soho Hotel this morning, Katherine went on to admit: ‘I didn’t realise how prudish I am. I’m very vanilla!’
Speaking of her ‘hunky’ husband to the audience, she proudly called him ‘a little bit of eye candy for the mum’s viewing.’
