EXCLUSIVE: Judy Greer has boarded the comedy In Memoriam from former Late Show With David Letterman producer Rob Burnett.
Burnett, who also wrote the movie, commences production this week in Los Angeles. Pic follows a veteran Hollywood actor (Marc Maron) who, after receiving a terminal cancer diagnosis, becomes obsessed with securing a spot in the Academy Awards’ “In Memoriam” montage. This leads to a heartfelt exploration of ego, humility, and legacy. Greer will play Maron’s ex-wife. The 13 Going on 30 actress also joins Talia Ryder in the feature. Invention Studio’s Nicholas Weinstock and Divya D’Souza are producing alongside Maron, as well as Burnett and David Martin from Avalon.
Greer has just wrapped on the Lionsgate adaptation of Steven King’s 1979 novel The Long Walk. She is coming off filming the Apple TV+ Owen Wilson Untitled Golf Comedy series from Jason Keller. She can next be seen starring in The Best Christmas Pageant Ever, a holiday family comedy that Lionsgate releases on Nov. 8. Greer starred last year in the HBO limited series The White House Plumbers opposite Woody Harrelson and Justin Theroux. Deadline just reported that Greer is joining season 2 of The Last Thing He Told Me, the sequel to the Apple series from Josh Singer, bestselling author Laura Dave, executive producers Reese Witherspoon and Lauren Neustadter, and star/EP Jennifer Garner.
Burnett previously directed the 2016 road trip dramedy title, The Fundamentals of Caring starring Selena Gomez, Paul Rudd and Craig Roberts, which made its world premiere at the Sundance Film Festival.
Greer is represented by Artists First, CAA, Birch PR and Felker Toczek Suddleson.
