Jono Castano has revealed that his focus on fitness is now as much about his mental health as his physical being.
The celebrity personal trainer, who welcomed his first child earlier this year with his ex Simone Holtznagel, tells the Daily Telegraph that as he gets older, his priorities have changed.
‘It’s crucial to find balance between work, relationships, and self-care’ the 33-year-old said.
‘Prioritising time for family, health, and personal interests alongside professional commitments leads to a more fulfilling and meaningful life.’
He continued: ‘Exercise greatly improves mental state by releasing endorphins, reducing stress, and boosting self-esteem.
‘It enhances mood, promotes better sleep, and can foster social connections, all contributing to overall mental wellbeing.’
The ACERO gym owner says that his mental health and time for himself is a focus going forward.
‘The most important lifestyle lesson I’ve learned is don’t forget self-care’ Jono told the publication.

‘When I prioritise my mental self-care, I can manage stress more effectively, think more creatively, and maintain a positive outlook on life’.
It comes after Simone Holtznagel took yet another savage swipe at her ex-boyfriend after their acrimonious split.
The Australian model, 31, quietly split from the personal trainer around nine weeks after they welcomed their baby daughter Gia on Easter Sunday.
Jono finally confirmed news of their break-up in July, and Simone has since said she is raising Gia alone and cryptically remarked that she ‘couldn’t change’ her partner.

The Australia’s Next Top Model star has taken another thinly-veiled dig at her ex-boyfriend as she made a telling move on social media.
In her latest swipe, she liked an Instagram post which joked about feeling nauseated by the father of your child.
Alongside a shot of Rowan Atkinson‘s iconic character Mr. Bean retching in disgust, a caption read: ‘Knowing that you were once attracted to the father of your child.’
A humorous caption penned by content creator JayDee Milo added: ‘Who feels like [vomit emoji]???’
Simone’s representatives declined to comment when contacted by Daily Mail Australia.

The dig comes after Simone broke her silence on their split by saying she ‘couldn’t change’ the man that she loved as she hinted at the reasons behind their break-up.
‘I wanted to set an example for my daughter; that’s something that shifted for me. One day I was like, ‘What am I doing? This isn’t right.’ And I would hate if she was ever in this situation,’ she told Stellar.
‘You have to do what is right for you at the end of the day. No matter the number of promises or anything else that people make, when they show you who they are, believe them. Because you can’t change people.’
Simone also said she is content raising her baby Gia, six months, alone and that she is confident she made the right choice.
‘I’ve never felt more sure of anything, and I know I can do it by myself. It’s unfortunate that I’m mostly having to do it by myself, but I couldn’t think of it any other way, really,’ she said.

‘What I’m doing just feels very right for me, the most important thing to me is that Gia is happy and healthy, and that I’m happy too.’
In another swipe, Simone recently addressed the positives and negatives of doing motherhood ‘alone’, despite seemingly sharing parenting duties with Jono.
In a recent interview, Simone notably failed to mention Jono in an apparent swipe as she thanked her family and friends for supporting her.
When asked about the aspect of motherhood that surprised her, Simone told Women’s Health: ‘Positive: I can do this alone. Negative: I am doing this alone.
‘My family and friends have gone absolutely above and beyond for me, and I am lucky that the negatives feel a lot easier with them by my side.’
Simone welcomed her daughter Gia with Jono on Easter Sunday, but the couple went their separate ways just nine weeks later, with Jono confirming the news at the end of July.
‘Who knows what the future holds, our idea is just to be the best parents for Gia at this stage,’ he told Daily Mail Australia in a statement at the time.
A close friend of the couple then revealed the writing was on the wall for the end of Simone and Jono’s relationship for quite some time.
A source told The Daily Telegraph that several friends and family members warned Simone her model lifestyle was not compatible with Jono’s fitness influencer career.
