American Idol producer Fremantle has promoted Jimmy Fox.
Fox becomes President, Content and Strategy at the U.S. arm of the European production group. He was previously EVP, Unscripted Development and Sales.
Fox joined Fremantle in February 2024, as revealed by Deadline, ostensibly replacing Jayson Dinsmore, who was President of Unscripted.
In the new role, he will oversee traditional development and “strategic business initiatives”.
The company said he has been tasked with “identifying high-impact business opportunities, strengthening cross-department collaboration around their valuable legacy IP, and supporting the incubation of new international formats in close partnership with the company’s global teams”.
Since joining, Fremantle has been behind Netflix’s Evil Influencer and ABC’s reboot of Match Game hosted by Martin Short and he recently developed competition series Win the Mall for Netflix. He reports to Jennifer Mullin, CEO, Fremantle.
“Since joining the company, Jimmy has been an instrumental leader across both our creative and business efforts, consistently demonstrating an ability to identify opportunities and turn them into results,” said Mullin. “From launching standout projects to forging key partnerships, his impact has been felt across the organization, and I am delighted to see him step into this expanded role.”
