Award-winning singer-songwriter Jelly Roll showed his appreciation for Los Angeles first responders and fire crews with a private concert at the Rose Bowl in Pasadena Saturday night.

“It’s not just the locals who appreciate the efforts of those who lend a helping hand; even music stars recognize and celebrate this unwavering commitment,” the California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation posted on Instagram.

The show featured Jelly Roll performing some of his biggest hits on stage in front of a lively crowd.

“It’s an honor for the crews to be honored and for the first responders to be honored,” one concertgoer said.

The CDCR posted video of firefighters enjoying the show alongside some of the incarcerated fire crewmembers.

“I think they deserve to be here. They kicked butt,” another person said of the CDCR crews in attendance.

Over 1,000 dedicated CDCR firefighters and incarcerated fire crews helped battle the L.A. fires, the post stated.
