Celebrity gardener Jamie Durie spent his 54th birthday doing what he loved at Palm Beach on Monday as he went for a surf in the tumultuous waves.
The Backyard Blitz star was accompanied by girlfriend Ameka Jane as the couple got in some quality time together with their children Beau, two, and Nash, one.
Looking completely at ease in the crashing waves, Jamie became utterly soaked as he dove through and cruised along the salty water.
At one point, he appeared to almost lose his balance but quickly corrected himself before he could tumble into the sea.
Once Jamie had his fill out on the water, he could be seen trying to pull off his saturated black wetsuit while taking a seat on a nearby park bench.

After taking the time to dry himself off, Jamie slung a mint green towel around his neck as he loaded up his car with his surfboards.
He then helped his two Rhodesian ridgeback dogs into the back of the car, laying down a white tarp to protect the inside of the vehicle.
Jamie was last spotted back in November last year when he appeared downcast as he left Perth Airport.

Despite seeming a little tense ahead of the chaos of Christmas holidays at the time, Jamie and Ameka cracked a smile when they stopped for a chat.

The pair certainly had plenty to be happy about as Jamie just spent $3.6million on a Byron Bay hinterland retreat near the popular tourist haven Nashua.
Called Akubra, the creek-side farmhouse boasts a sprawling 30ha of land which can house up to 40 head of cattle, more than 300 sheep, chickens, llamas and goats.
The television presenter and his partner will also enjoy a five-hole golf course, fire pit and a lagoon-style pool, reported Realestate.com.au in October.
With three-bedrooms to the main family home, the property also comes with a separate cottage, large farm shed and six paddocks.
