Anjelica Huston – who dated Jack Nicholson the longest of all his exes between 1973-1990 – revealed she’s ‘in the clear’ after a secret, shocking ’bout with cancer‘ that was discovered in May 2019.
‘That was a very serious moment for me. I managed to survive it, and I’m proud of myself,’ the 73-year-old Oscar winner told People on Wednesday.
‘I’m at the four-year mark, and that means so much to me. It’s a fantastic thing. I’m very proud of myself, and I’ve been very lucky. My doctors have been wonderful.’
Anjelica decided to finally reveal her health battle because ‘there’s a lot to be said for talking about it and getting it out there and celebrating the fact that one’s come through.’
‘Life is tenuous and wonderful. It also gives you the idea that the world is big and you can somehow match up to it. That you’re ready for whatever happens,’ Huston noted.

The 73-year-old Oscar winner told People on Wednesday: ‘That was a very serious moment for me. \’One of those places was taking life too seriously. So now when the opportunity arises, I laugh, and I try not to make a big deal out of things,’ Anjelica said.
Luckily, when Huston shot her role as Lady Tressilian in the Agatha Christie three-part murder mystery Towards Zero – premiering April 16 on BritBox – director Sam Yates allowed her do so from bed.
‘I loved playing from bed,’ the Star Wars: The Bad Batch guest star said.
‘It was very relaxing and wonderfully undemanding. I’ve always liked bed anyway. It’s one of my preferences and now I’m convinced, absolutely. It’s almost a prerequisite.’
And while her 87-year-old Prizzi’s Honor leading man is happily retired, Anjelica ‘can’t imagine such a thing,’ saying: ‘I think it would be too much, even for me.’
Huston might have ended her romance with Jack (born John) after he secretly fathered a child with Rebecca Broussard, but they remain amicable.
