ISRAEL has recovered the bodies of two more hostages who were kidnapped during the October 7 attacks and killed in Hamas captivity.
Authorities identified the two deceased hostages as Amiram Cooper, 84, and Sahar Baruch, 25.
Cooper was taken hostage by Hamas terrorists from his home in Kibbutz Nir Oz and was murdered in February 2024, according to the IDF.
Baruch was also kidnapped by Hamas terrorists from Kibbutz Be’eri, and was killed in December 2023.
After Hamas handed over the remains to Israel yesterday, the IDF said: “Two coffins of deceased hostages, escorted by IDF troops, crossed the border into the State of Israel a short while ago and are on their way to the National Institute for Forensic Medicine, where identification procedures will be carried out.
“IDF representatives are accompanying the families.”
Hamas has now returned 15 out of the 28 hostages who died in Hamas captivity in Gaza.
Israel has demanded that every single body be handed over for them to end the war completely.
It comes after chilling footage captured Hamas brutes appearing to try to rebury a hostage’s body before pretending to discover the corpse.
Israeli drones recorded the shocking footage from Gaza, which shows what is believed to be a body bag being placed in a large hole in the ground and covered with soil.
A short time later, the terrorists acted out a “discovery” of the body.
Hamas tried to say the body was one of the hostages still unaccounted for since they were ordered to return every last captive so a peace deal could be implemented in Gaza.
The IDF said they belonged to Ofir Tzarfati, 27, who was kidnapped from the Nova music festival during Hamas’s October 7, 2023 massacre.
Tzarfati was killed in captivity and his body sent back to his loved ones in November 2023.
The sickening act from Hamas provoked a strong response from all groups involved, including the Israeli government and Tzarfati’s family.
The IDF responded by pounding Gaza with a wave of airstrikes on Tuesday and Wednesday.
At least 31 people died as Tel Aviv vowed Hamas would “pay” for breaking the fragile ceasefire and sending back the wrong hostage remains.
Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu ordered the retaliation late on Tuesday as he accused Hamas of “deception and treachery”.
Hamas has continued to claim it is facing difficulties in locating the remaining hostages amid the destruction in Gaza.
Over the weekend, Egyptian teams with heavy machinery entered Gaza to assist in locating the remaining bodies.
