The Islanders’ star summer signing could be missing some time.
Anthony Duclair exited the ice without putting weight on his right leg in the third period of Saturday’s match against the Canadiens.
Duclair appeared to get twisted up and fall awkwardly during a power play, putting a pall on affairs at UBS Arena.
Duclair, who signed a four-year, $14 million contract this summer, already had three points in the first four games this season and was building chemistry on the top line with Bo Horvat and Mat Barzal.
After signing Duclair to complete the trio, the Islanders were optimistic they could have a high-end scoring line for the first time in a long time.
Duclair has missed time with injuries in the past, being limited to just 20 games with the Panthers in 2022-23.
Now he could be in danger of doing so again.
