A British urban explorer claims he has captured an image of a ghost lurking in the hallway of an abandoned school in Japan.
Ben, who goes by the username @places_forgotten on social media, is a content creator with 1.4 million followers on TikTok. He mainly shares videos and photos of abandoned places around the world.
It was while he was on a work trip to Japan that Ben decided to pay the derelict building that used to house the school a visit.
While photographing the abandoned school, which still had homework pinned up on its walls, bags perched on the desks and pictures of the students, Ben claimed to have captured the photographs of a ghost lurking in the hallway.
Chilling images, shared by the content creator who said he was certain was the only person there, show the figure at the far-end of the corridor.

The figure can be seen looking up at Ben from the end of a hallway.
‘It looks like either a student or teacher but its just very, very eerie’, Ben said.
‘There was nobody else there and there is no way I’d take a shot of a hallway if someone was coming up it – I’d be freaked out,’ he said, adding that he was ‘definitely alone in the building.’
‘It’s a very rural area and I called out and checked rooms before I started taking pictures.
‘The place is quite creepy because it is completely untouched.
‘It sits on its own on the outskirts of town with everything frozen in time.

‘But it was only after looking back at my photos I noticed a figure in the hallway.
‘It was like a black and white figure and looked like a spirit.
‘I just felt really weird after seeing it.
‘I haven’t experienced much with the supernatural or spirits.
‘But I know the Japanese believe spirits stay where they belong.’
Teachers and pupils left the building empty after the Tōhoku earthquake and tsunami disaster in Japan in 2011.
The devastating event killed over 18,000 people.
The magnitude 9.0 Tohoku earthquake on 11 March 2011 triggered a 133ft tsunami, which hit the eastern coast of Japan and sent three nuclear reactors into meltdown.
Nuclear fuel was melted and released into the environment, and over 300,000 people were evacuated from their homes.
