Ted Lasso fans may be interested to know that Jason Sudeikis is the voice of a cute little pig in the upcoming animated kids’ movie, Hitpig!, opening in theaters this weekend. It’s not as good as a new season, but at least it’s something.
Directed by Cinzia Angelini and David Feiss, Hitpig is based on the 2008 children’s book Pete & Pickles by Berkeley Breathed, who also co-wrote the screenplay with Dave Rosenbaum and Tyler Werrin. Sudeikis’s character, Hitpig, is a bounty hunter pig in a futuristic cyberpunk world, tracking down an elephant named Pickles (voiced by Lilly Singh). Other voice cast actors include Rainn Wilson, Anitta, RuPaul, Hannah Gadsby, Charlie Adler, Flavor Flav, and Andy Serkis.
If you have young kids, Hitpig is no doubt a fun option to keep those children quiet and entertained for a few hours. Here’s what you need to know about where to watch Hitpig, and when and where we expect to see Hitpig on streaming.
Where to watch the Hitpig movie:
For now, Hitpig will only available to watch in a movie theater, when it opens in the U.S. on Friday, November 1. You can find a showing near you via Fandango. Hitpig is not yet available to watch online or on streaming.
Is Hitpig streaming on Disney+?
Hitpig is not streaming on Disney+, and will not be on Disney+ any time soon, due to the fact that the film is not a Disney movie. Not every animated movie is a Disney movie! Instead, Hitpig is being distributed by the small, independent family-friendly production studio known as Viva Pictures. Other Viva films include 2022’s The Amazing Maurice and 2023’s Scary Girl.
Is Hitpig streaming on Netflix?
Hitpig is not streaming on Netflix. While Hitpig may stream on Netflix someday, it is not a Netflix original, and therefore will not stream until after the digital release of the movie. That said, we think it’s more likely that Hitpig will stream on Hulu, not Netflix, based on previous releases from Viva Pictures.
When will Hitpig stream on Hulu?
While there’s no guaranteed that Hitpig will release on Hulu, we do know that another Viva Pictures film, The Amazing Maurice, began streaming on Hulu about four months after the movie opened in theaters in the U.S. If Hitpig follows a similar release pattern, you may see Hitpig on Netflix in early March 2025.
But this is all speculation. For now, the only way to see Hitpig is in a movie theater.
