IRAN fired two missiles towards Cyprus, where thousands of British soldiers are stationed, the defence secretary has revealed.

Iranian strikes also landed within just “a few hundred yards” of British troops in Bahrain, John Healey revealed.

Although Healey said he was “pretty sure” the missiles were not directly targeting British bases, he called Iran a “very real and rising threat”.

It comes as Iran vowed to wreak revenge for the US-Israeli operation Epic Fury that took out their bloodthirsty leader.

Healey told Sky News: “This is a really serious and deteriorating situation, (with) rising risks of increasing Iranian indiscriminate retaliatory attacks.

“Let me give you a couple examples. Yesterday, we had 300 personnel on that Bahrain base that was attacked by Iranian missiles and drones, some of them within a few hundred yards of where they landed.”

“We had two missiles fired in the direction of Cyprus.

“We don’t believe they were targeted at Cyprus, but nevertheless, it’s an example of how there is a very real and rising threat from a regime that is lashing out widely across the region, and that requires us to act.”

He also gave a chilling warning, revealing that Iranian missile commanders were “increasingly allowed to choose their own targets” as the rogue nation was “losing its command and control”.

Explosions have rocked Tehran this morning, with dramatic images showing huge plumes of smoke rising from the city centre.

And Iran has continued to hit out at targets across the Middle East as its president Masoud Pezeshkian said that “bloodshed and revenge” is its “legitimate right and duty”.

Dubai airport has been hit by another blast this morning as in a revenge blitz just one day after horror strikes killed one and left seven injured.

Smoke was seen rising from Dubai International Airport this morning as Iran attacked the airport for a second day.

The latest blasts come just hours after one person died and seven were left injured at an Abu Dhabi airport while another blast rocked Dubai airport.

Dubai officials confirmed last night that a concourse at Dubai International Airport sustained “minor damage in an incident that was quickly contained”.

An Iranian state TV presenter broke down in tears as he announced the death of bloodthirsty dictator Khamenei.
