Talulah Riley and Thomas Brodie-Sangster tied the knot in summer in a quirky fairytale ceremony, complete with a horse-drawn carriage and fairground rides.
And now the St Trinians actor and Love Actually star’s ‘hippy homestead’ life in rural north Hertfordshire has been revealed.
Speaking to The Sunday Times, Talulah, 39, has lifted the lid on the 20-acre plot the couple live on alongside four other adults and over 100 animals.
‘Am I a hippy? Homesteader? Trad wife? Luddite? Millennial Marie Antoinette?’ Talulah asks, as she speaks about her and Thomas’s idyllic English countryside life – where they forage their own food, trek distances to buy raw milk and bake sourdough.
But the pair’s new lifestyle is a relatively private one, with Talulah admitting she keeps their endeavours off social media so as to not become a ‘brand’ – a trend she ‘loathes’.
And the church plays a big part of their life, she says, as religion just ‘makes sense’ in the countryside.

The couple – who met on the set of Disney+ Sex Pistols drama Pistol in March 2021, and announced their engagement last year – are big animal lovers, and on their shared homestead live two horses, a pony, two pigs, three geese, 15 chickens, a hive of bees, 70 sheep and ‘countless’ ducks – as well as four dogs, one of whom Talulah says is ‘part wolf’.
‘Trad living’ is a growing trend online and while hers isn’t publicised, it is a life Talulah enjoys, admitting to ‘loving’ raw [unpasteurised] milk.
‘Thomas travels 20 minutes there and back every week to buy raw milk from a local(ish) farm, I’m mad for raw milk,’ she reveals.
Despite being a city boy growing up in London, Talulah insists Thomas has taken to country life like a duck to water.
Thomas is said to have taken to carpentry and mechanics to keep the homestead ticking, building a chicken house with a drawbridge and swings, compost boxes and a floating duck house.
Speaking of ducks, the pair spend a lot of their time in the local pub – despite Talulah never having had a drink – and a deal was once made one ‘happy evening’ at the bar.
‘A village friend said he had three ducks he was getting rid of and did we want them?’ Talulah said. ‘I said yes, not entirely sure the offer would be remembered but lo, the next morning there were three ducks in our pond.’
And their family of ducks has only grown, with Talulah saying she now cannot count how many live in their pond.

Talulah and Thomas are big foodies, she says, and their produce is fresh – with a local friend supplying venison, while she forages nettles and rosehips.
After an Irish cooking class, Talulah now proudly reveals she has mastered the art of baking sourdough and soon hopes to buy a milk separator so she can start churning her own butter.
Thomas and Talulah, who were married at St George’s Church in Anstey, Hertfordshire in June, made sure to share their day with their pet pooch, who was assigned the task of ring bearer during the nuptials, an insider reported.
In photos obtained by The Sun the bride looked elegant in a satin A-line gown with a fitted bustier and bow on the stripped.
An outsider gave an insight into their day, explaining how the horses had roses in their manes and guests took a ride on a merry-go-round.
They told the publication: ‘The horse was a bridesmaid and I think he arranged it as a surprise. She looked happy when she saw it.
‘There was a dog who was part of the wedding party, with a box and ribbon on its back, so I think it was the couple’s ring bearer.

‘In the fields across from their home, there were several marquees with fairground rides, including a merry-go-round and helter skelter.’
Thomas, who played lovesick child Sam in the 2003 rom-com Love Actually opposite on-screen dad Liam Neeson, looked dapper as ever in a royal blue tuxedo.
He appeared to channel his inner-Bridgerton for the occasion as he stepped out in some pinstriped grey trousers and a floral waist jacket.
To announce their engagement in 2023, Talulah – who was previously married to billionaire Elon Musk – chose Twitter as her method of confirmation.
With a selfie alongside the words: ‘Very happy to share that after two years of dating, Thomas Brodie Sangster and I are engaged!’.
