Two women were taken into custody after a road-rage shooting on the 10 Freeway in Rialto earlier this month.

The shooting occurred on March 16 at about 8:15 a.m. on the westbound 10 Freeway near Riverside Avenue and “stemmed from a road rage dispute over a lane change,” the California Highway Patrol said in a news release.

According to investigators, a man driving a black 2024 Honda Civic saw a gray Nissan Rogue pull up alongside him, and the driver of that Nissan “produced a handgun and fired several rounds at the victim’s vehicle.”

That Honda was struck several times by gunfire.

Later that day, Fontana Police Department officers used an image of the suspect vehicle captured by state law enforcement to track down the Rogue.

Two women were taken into custody, and inside the Nissan, “detectives recovered a loaded firearm, which matched witness statements,” authorities said.

The driver, 24-year-old Angeline Marie Gable of Loma Linda, was arrested on multiple felony charges, including attempted murder and shooting at an occupied vehicle. She did not appear in a search of jail records.

“Deliberate acts of violence such as these will not be tolerated, and I commend the efforts of our CHP investigators and detectives, and the efforts of our allied agencies, for their outstanding investigative work in bringing these suspects to justice,” CHP Capt. Lance Berns said in the release. “Coordinated and swift actions like these highlight the CHP’s unwavering commitment to public safety.”
