THIS is the extraordinary moment a female tourist fends off a brazen pair of thieves who try to nab her phone and speed off on a motorbike.
In the gobsmacking footage, the 33-year-old heroine stands her ground and bravely pulls one of the crooks off their bike during the botched mugging in Buenos Aires.
Alexandra Doketova, 33, was cycling in the Argentine capital when she was targeted by two gangsters.
In the staggering footage, the Russian holidaymaker is approached by two men riding a Honda XR motorbike.
As she stops at a pedestrian crossing, one of the men attempts to snatch the phone out of her hand.
But much to their surprise, she puts up a fight – valiantly thwarting their brazen robbery.
After tussling with the thieving pair, the tourist starts to grab the motorbike, and using her own weight tries to stop it in its tracks.
Refusing to let go, she is eventually brought down with the passenger who initially grabbed her mobile.
He is dramatically tackled off of the bike before he hits the ground and tries to stand up.
And even after managing to get up, the woman stays strong, clenching the man’s ankles as he desperately looks to flee.
Alexandra keeps holding the burglar’s leg as he tries to break free.
But moments later, passers-by stop to help her, parking their cars to block the man’s getaway.
One of them grabs him by the head and tries to take him down, while another comes to her aid and starts kicking the thief.
Throughout the shocking ordeal, the woman was hit, elbowed and bruised as she fought to keep her phone.
Police eventually arrived minutes later and managed to arrest the man.
His accomplice was caught and detained hours later, local media reported.
The female tourist sustained head injuries from her brave fightback during her vacation in Argentina.
Police later raided the suspects’ homes and found ten mobile phones.
Both of the men had criminal records, according to cops.
Astonishingly, a court ruled the alleged thieves should not be held in custody.
The decision that has sparked outrage in Buenos Aires – where attacks on foreigners are on the rise.
A witness said: “I don’t know what more proof they want. Everything can be seen on the cameras.”
