IHOP hopes to set a new Guinness World Record for the most pancakes served in eight hours to celebrate National Pancake Day’s 20th anniversary.
The event, called “20K for Pancake Day,” will take place at the Santa Monica Pier on Saturday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. IHOP hopes to serve 20,000 pancakes and is inviting fans across the Los Angeles area to take part in the festivities.
The current record is held by the Calgary Stampede, a nonprofit community organization. In 2023, the organization served more than 17,000 pancakes in eight hours.
For every pancake served during the record attempt, IHOP will donate $1 to Feeding America, benefiting the Los Angeles Regional Food Bank and its efforts to fight hunger in L.A. County.
Those unable to attend can still celebrate National Pancake Day on March 4. Participating IHOP locations nationwide will offer a free short stack of pancakes from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m.
