I Got the Viral Drew Barrymore Chair and Love It

I’m a voracious reader, but I’ve never been able to find the perfect spot in my apartment to dive into a great book. If I’m in bed, I’m asleep within half an hour. If I’m on my couch, there’s always something pulling my attention away. When I moved into a larger space this year, I wanted to create a cozy reading nook, and now I’ve found the perfect chair for it.

I bought the best-selling Drew Barrymore chair from her Beautiful line at Walmart, and it’s the best purchase I’ve made this year. I saw it going viral on Booktok a few months ago but didn’t have the space for it. Now that I’m all settled into my new place, I couldn’t resist investing in the comfortable piece of furniture, especially after seeing its more than 7,800 five-star reviews. I’ve never been happier with a purchase thanks to the chair’s comfortable cushions and included pillows, swivel base, oversized seat, and easy assembly.

Once the chair arrived, I easily assembled the pieces with my husband in less than 30 minutes. The instructions were clear, the pieces fit great, and it was so simple, I probably could have managed doing it solo.I started using it right away and was impressed from the moment I sat down. As a plus size person, I knew I’d need an oversized chair to be able to sit criss-cross or prop my legs up. The Drew chair is extremely spacious, even for me, and I can easily lounge however I want. Plus, it’s not just oversized. It’s comfortable, too. 

The boucle fabric is soft yet sturdy, so it’ll hold up to wear and tear but still look and feel great. In fact, my cat has even stuck his claws in it a few times already, and it still looks brand new. The back and side cushions are plush and supportive, and I don’t feel like I’m slowly melting into the chair as I sit there. In fact, while it’s meant as a reading chair, I’ve basically abandoned my desk and now sit in it for eight hours straight during work days. Plus, the chair comes with three pillows, and they’re well-stuffed, perfectly sized, and add to the comfort level.

The Walmart chair also swivels a full 360 degrees. There’s a sturdy metal base on the bottom that allows you to turn around completely, which is helpful for those who need to keep an eye on kids or pets. Admittedly, I’m a kid at heart, and it’s just fun to spin around in it from time to time.

I’m far from the only person who loves the Drew Barrymore chair. It has over 7,800 five-star ratings with shoppers praising the easy assembly, comfortable seat, and just how luxe it is for the price. One person, like me, purchased it as a reading chair, but said that it’s so comfortable, they’ve made it their go-to seat for doing everything.
