THIS is the horror a runaway gold buggy flies down a hill and smashes through a fence injuring the four riding in it.
CCTV footage shows the cart careening down a path missing buildings by inches after it suffered a catastrophic brake failure.
The red buggy hurtles down the slope at breakneck speed as the person behind the wheel skilfully drives around the curves remarkably not hitting anyone.
The cart tilts perilously and gets airborne as it reaches the bottom of the slope – a barrier near the ocean.
But it then smashes through a wooden barrier and disappears from view several just metres from the shoreline.
The shock crash happened at Pinnacle Point Estate in Mossel Bay, east of Cape Town, South Africa.
The golf buggy was left a mangled wreck after it landed on its side on the grass, falling short of the ocean.
The four people in the vehicle were staying at a property on the estate and were driving to Oyster Bay at the time of the accident.
A woman was seriously injured and two men and another woman received minor injuries from the traumatic experience.
Pinnacle Point Estate general manager Charl van der Linde told local media: “The guests…lost control of the golf cart as a result of what appeared to be a failure of brakes on the downhill section.
“The four occupants of the golf cart were injured.
“Emergency services were deployed and were on scene very quickly.”
