Boys basketball
South River 57, Stephen Decatur 45: Visiting South River beat Stephen Decatur in a Class 3A East Section I region final. South River was led by Jaden McDuffie (24 points), Jamie Finn (15 points) and Jonah Hall (10 points).
C. Milton Wright 68, Elkton 58: The visiting Mustangs extended their four-point lead in the first half with a 17-9 run to start the second half and beat the Golden Elks in a Class 2A East Section I region final. C.M. Wright was led by Jordan Ross with 24 points and Dylan Sander with 15 points and 23 rebounds.
Meade 84, Glen Burnie 49: The host Mustangs outscored the Gophers, 48-20, in the second half in Class 4A East Section I. Meade’s Ashton Turman scored 21 points, including five 3-pointers. Other standouts for the Mustangs included: Keon Scott (19 points, 6 assists, 5 rebounds) and Lucaya Baldridge (16 points, 8 rebounds). The win was the fourth straight region title and 20th straight win.
Girls basketball
South River 68, Stephen Decatur 22: Host South River beat Stephen Decatur in a Class 3A East Section I region final. South River was led by Kierra West (15 points), Karlee Hawkins (12 points, 6 rebounds) and Cami Burke (8 points, 10 assists, 8 steals, 7 rebounds).
Fallston 35, Rising Sun 34: The Cougars held off the Tigers to win the Class 2A East Region I championship. Brooke Bolesta led the win with nine points. Jadin Woods was right behind her with eight. Natalie Wirth chipped in five points.
