A Hesperia man is behind bars after investigators discovered a cache of illegal weapons, narcotics and a stolen Jeep at his home on Monday, officials said.
The San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department served a search warrant in the 18600 block of Lilac Street that day, targeting the home of 33-year-old Luis Padilla.
At Padilla’s home, investigators allegedly discovered the following:
- Two stolen pistols
- Five assault rifles
- Large-capacity ammunition magazines
- Ammunition including armor-piercing rounds
- Suspected narcotics
- Items indicative of drug sales
- A stolen Jeep Gladiator
Padilla is being held at the High Desert Detention Center in lieu of $40,000 bail, though jail records show a separate hold for charges related to driving with a suspended license, which carry a separate $10,000 bail.
In this case, he faces charges of possession of narcotics for sale, possession of a controlled substance while armed, altering a firearm, carrying a stolen loaded firearm and possession of a stolen vehicle.
He was due to appear in Victorville Superior Court Wednesday morning.
