IRANIAN doctors have vanished after being arrested in Iran for treating victims of the mullahs’ bloody protest purge, it was revealed today.

Henchmen of the brutal Islamist regime ruled by Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei have been snatching medics who failed to report gunshot victims brought from street demos.

And loved ones fear the snatched physicians will never be seen again.

Missing medics were reported to include Dr. Babak Zarabian, an infectious disease specialist in the city of Isfahan, who has not been seen since his arrest on January 13.

He was among a string of specialists snatched and transferred to unknown locations, also said to include dentist Dr Fariba Hosseini, paediatrician Mohabbat Ghafoori, and GP Dr Asghar Shakeri.

Dr Zarabian tended to victims of the regime crackdown on protests which has claimed at least 2,600 lives over the past 18 days.

Colleagues at the Milad Hospital, where he works, were also arrested and his family was reported to have fled into hiding as his computer was taken away.

A physician in Iran, who asked not to be named, told IranWire: “During this period, a large number of doctors have been threatened and subjected to legal prosecution.

“They have turned on those who have publicly stated that they provide free medical care to protestors injured in demonstrations.

“These doctors have been summoned and threatened by security forces.

“In addition, some injured individuals were arrested immediately after receiving initial medical care.”

Ministry of Intelligence agents have illegally demanded that doctors hand over patients’ information – and arrested doctors who refuse to provide information.

The physician source added: “Several of our colleagues were arrested even before the killings began.”

Security agents were also reported to have made threatening phone calls to a number of doctors, warning them not to treat those injured in nationwide protests.

Medics were ordered to report any injured person seeking treatment immediately.

Weeks of demonstrations against the mullahs’ regime have left thousands dead.

Iranians protesting the Islamic Republic are now so fearful of being killed that many no longer dare to step outside, sources told the New York Post.

Many citizens are even being held hostage in their own homes at gunpoint by rifle-wielding Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) troops, reports say.

Describing the brutal scenes of repression playing out on the streets of Iran, one source said: “There were tanks out – there’s tanks everywhere.

“There’s trucks that are covered, with 10 people inside with machine guns just aiming them at everyone on the street.”

Earlier this week Trump said sources had told him the killings in Iran had stopped and that the mullahs’ regime would be postponing executions.

The claim stalled what was said to be an “imminent US strike” on Iran after Trump vowed to save protesters.

US forces were held back after Iran’s Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi announced on Wednesday: “There is no plan for hanging at all – hanging is out of the question.”
