The lift pass is an expense that many skiiers dread – with some resorts charging as much as £70 for a single day.
But if you’re planning a ski trip this winter, there’s an easy wasy to nab yourself a free lift pass.
Helly Hansen’s Ski Free initiative offers you a free day of skiing in one of over 80 resorts across Europe and North America.
This includes Big Bear Mountain Resort in the US, Les Menuires in France, and Hafjell in Norway.
Best of all, all you need to do is buy a ski jacket or pant from the latest Helly Hansen ski collection.
‘Wherever you ski, our ski collection has the best performance technology to handle changing mountain conditions,’ Helly Hansen explains.
‘You feel all the adrenaline and none of the cold.’
Depending on your chosen ski resort, you can redeem your receipt against a range of offers, including two–for–one lift tickets and even a 60–minute free lesson with an instructor.

To qualify for Ski Free, all you need to do is buy ski pants, jacket, or suits from Helly Hansen’s latest collection.
This ranges in price from £60–£800, and includes men’s, women’s, juniors, and unisex options.
Your chosen item can be purchased directly through Helly Hansen, or via a third party.
‘As long as it’s a qualifying Ski Free product for the relevant season, it doesn’t matter where you buy it,’ the retailer explained.
‘But be aware that not all retailers have detailed receipts. When buying from a third party, please ensure the receipt clearly states the product name and date of purchase.’
Once you’ve bought your qualifying product and have your receipt, simply visit Helly Hansen’s Ski Free validation page and fill out the form for your chosen resort.
It’s worth noting that several resorts have ‘blackout dates’, when Ski Free is not offered.
You can find the blackout dates for your chosen resort here.
If your application is accepted, within 48 hours, you should receive an email with a link to a digital voucher.
Show the voucher at the pick–up point, and a ski resort employee will provide you with your Ski Free pass – simple!
