Vice President Harris is ahead of former President Trump by 5 points in Minnesota, according to a new poll from The Minnesota Star Tribune/MPR News/KARE 11 Minnesota.
Harris garnered 48 percent support from registered voters in the North Star State to Trump’s 45 percent support.
Minnesota has been a reliably Democratic state in presidential elections, though the Trump campaign has seen it as a possible pick-up state. Polls had shown a tight race between Trump and President Biden when he was in the race.
Harris chose Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz as her running mate, a decision that could help her win the state.
The new poll found that 47 percent of those polled view Harris favorably, compared to 46 percent who view Trump favorably.
Harris is leading Trump in an average of national polls from The Hill/Decision Desk HQ, garnering 50.3 percent support to the former president’s 46.7 percent.
The Minnesota Star Tribune/MPR News/KARE 11 Minnesota poll took place between Sep. 16 and 18, featuring 800 registered voters and a margin of sampling error within 3.5 percentage points.
