WASHINGTON (NEXSTAR) – The candidates are hitting Georgia, North Carolina, Michigan and Wisconsin Thursday.
Both vice presidential candidates spoke at a firefighter’s union in Boston to different receptions.
Governor Tim Walz spoke to the union on Wednesday to cheers, while Senator JD Vance spoke to the group on Thursday and was booed.
Vance made the Trump campaign’s pitch to union members and working-class voters.
“He is a different kind of Republican. And under his leadership, the Republican party is the party of the American worker,” said Vance.
The crowd was skeptical of Vance’s claim.
“President Trump and I are proud to be the most pro-worker Republican ticket in history,” said Vance.
Vice President Harris and Governor Walz continued their two-day bus tour through Georgia ending with a rally in Savannah.
Harris’ husband, Second Gentleman Doug Emhoff, spoke in battleground Michigan.
“Empathy is her superpower. Her ability to understand what people are going through, that is her strength,” Emhoff said.
Former president Donald Trump is also targeting towns in Michigan and Wisconsin where he lost ground between 2016 and 2020.
