WASHINGTON (NEXSTAR) – A high stakes debate is six days away. Former president Donald Trump and Vice President Kamala Harris will present their ideas for the country in their first debate, but neither is waiting to court as many voters as possible.
While Vice President Kamala Harris lays out a new plan she says will help small businesses. Former president Donald Trump is targeting her policies ahead of next week’s debate
Harris traveled to New Hampshire to announce a plan to help create more small businesses.
“My vision of an opportunity economy is one where everyone can compete and have a real chance to succeed,” said Harris.
Harris wants to expand tax deductions from $5,000 to $50,000, a move she says will create about 25 million small businesses in the next four years.
“I believe America’s small businesses Are an essential Foundation to our entire economy,” said Harris.
Trump and Harris will meet next Tuesday in Philadelphia for the first time ever and it will be on the debate stage.
“I’ve been preparing all my life for this debate,” said Trump.
When it comes to the economy Trump is pushing to extend the tax cuts he and Republicans enacted while he was president.
During a radio show appearance on Good Morning New Hampshire, Trump accused Harris of flip-flopping on policy.
“She’s changed every policy. That’s why she doesn’t want to debate because she doesn’t know what she’s talking about. She’s changed every policy,” said Trump.
Harris will be in Pittsburgh Thursday and Trump will be in New York for campaign events.
