Halle Berry revealed during an interview on Tuesday that she had fallen in love with her boyfriend Van Hunt prior to them having sex for the first time.
The Catwoman star, 58 — who recently claimed to have spent $200K trying to ‘work with’ her ex — opened up to Marie Claire about having ‘never’ been intentional with her relationships and feeling ‘loosey goosey’ prior to dating the musician.
‘It was the first time I was madly in love before I had sex,’ she said speaking candidly other their connection. ‘That has never happened to me, ever.’
And to her, it was unlike anything she had experienced before.
The Never Let Go actress continued: ‘Talk about one of those life-changing, beautiful experiences. It was magical, just magical.’

Halle told the outlet she ‘created [her] career. I was intentional about that. But I had never been that intentional with my relationships. I was loosey goosey with that.’
She added: ‘You have to be clear with the universe [or] any old thing will find you. The minute I started to feel like I understood myself and what I had been doing wrong, Van’s brother, who I had known for many years, came to me and said, “You should meet my brother.”‘
As she and the GRAMMY winner’s, 54, relationship blossomed, she admitted that it ‘took me a minute to get it right,’ but ‘the nature of the way this happened, I have a real belief that this is it. This is my person.’
She and the musician met in 2020 and bonded over virtual calls, they went public with their relationship in September of the same year.
Halle then opened up about how her perspective on life has shifted as she has aged and how she is shutting the doors on people pleasing.
‘I’m now usually one of the oldest people in every room I walk in and that’s a good feeling…I don’t have to be the dancing bear. I don’t have to worry about appeasing everybody in the room, or care about everybody else’s egos, or their insecurities, or give them what they’re wanting from me if it’s not what I’m wanting to give them,’ she said.
The mother-of-two admitted that her daughter tells people, ‘don’t ask mom, because she’s got no f*cks to give. Don’t ask her unless you want the answer for real.’
And she also got candid about turning 58 in August, explaining that some use age to belittle women.
‘Age is just a number that they stick on us at birth,’ she shared. ‘As women, we get defined by it way more than men do and sometimes it can debilitate us.’
Now she feels as though she’s ‘arrived at this place feeling better and stronger than I did when I was in my 20s. I feel like I’m now at the pinnacle.’

Later in the interview, Halle opened up about her advocacy for women’s rights and menopause care.
‘We’ve been expected to get these babies out and then who cares what happens to us. Y’all just get through it the best way you can. The fighter in me said, hell no, we deserve better! We are half this population,’ she said.
The actress added of motherhood: ‘Those kids are here because we bring them here. You don’t get to forget us now for the second half of our journey. We were valuable then and we’re valuable now.’
